About us

The Kentucky Dairy Goat Association (KYDGA) was founded by a small group of dedicated dairy goat breeders who saw a growing need for more opportunities within our state. With over 200 ADGA members across Kentucky, we recognized the importance of creating a central organization to serve as a hub for breeders, exhibitors, and enthusiasts alike.

Our mission is to promote the dairy goat through education, community outreach, and ADGA-sanctioned shows. We strive to provide valuable resources, learning opportunities, and events that support both new and experienced breeders while fostering a sense of community throughout Kentucky’s dairy goat industry.

At KYDGA, we’re proud to be building a network that connects people, encourages learning, and celebrates the progress and passion behind every herd in our state.

What we offer

ADGA-Sanctioned Shows in Kentucky – Access to organized, local shows that make it easier (and more affordable) for breeders to participate, earn legs, and showcase their herds.

Educational Opportunities – Workshops, clinics, and webinars covering topics like herd health, nutrition, genetics, milk testing, and other performance programs.

Networking & Community – Connect with other Kentucky breeders, share experiences, and learn from those who’ve paved the way.

Youth Engagement – Programs that encourage youth participation and help the next generation of dairy goat owners build skills and confidence.

Statewide Representation – A unified voice advocating for the dairy goat community within Kentucky and the American Dairy Goat Association.

Our hopes for the future

As KYDGA continues to grow, our goal is to expand opportunities for Kentucky breeders through more ADGA-sanctioned shows, educational events, and youth involvement. We hope to strengthen connections across the state, provide valuable resources for every level of breeder, and continue building a supportive community that promotes the future of dairy goats in Kentucky.
